Imagine being a young pilot in 1942 thru 1945 and being entrusted with the war-changing North America P51 Mustang. The fastest piston fighter aircraft in the world at that time with Rolls Royce supercharged engine with speeds of over 400 MPH. Not to mention the firepower of Six 50 caliber machine guns. A real war time game changer. Our flyer is headed for home base as the sun sets on his P51D. Many dangers to be sure but the amazing power and speed had to be quite a rush and confidence booster to a young aviator.
